Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
Reconciliation is the sacrament of God’s mercy made visible—a sacred encounter where we come as we are, wounded and weary, and leave renewed by grace. In this sacrament, we confess our sins not to be shamed, but to be embraced by the Father, who runs to meet us like the prodigal son. Through the priest, Christ Himself listens, forgives, and speaks the words of absolution: “Go in peace.”
It is not merely a ritual—it is a homecoming, a healing, a restoration of friendship with God and the Church. In Reconciliation, we are reminded that no sin is greater than God’s love, and that every contrite heart is welcomed with joy. This sacrament invites us to begin again, strengthened by grace and called to live in the light of Christ.

What if I have not been to Confession in a long time?
You’re not alone—and you’re always welcome. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is not about how long it’s been, but about coming home to God’s mercy. Whether it’s been months, years, or decades, the Church rejoices when anyone returns to this healing sacrament.
The priest is there to guide you gently, without judgment, and help you make a good confession—even if you’re unsure where to start.
God’s love never tires of waiting. If your heart is stirring, that’s the Holy Spirit inviting you back. Just say yes.
What do I say when I go to Confession?
Many people worry they won’t remember the right words or steps. But the truth is, the priest is there to gently guide you through it.
You don’t need a perfect script—just a sincere heart.
