VERBUM First Friday Family Ministry
The family is, so to speak, the domestic church. In it parents should, by their word and example, be the first preachers of the faith to their children; they should encourage them in the vocation which is proper to each of them, fostering with special care vocation to a sacred state.
-Vatican II: Lumen gentium (Nov. 21, 1964), paragraph 11
Welcome to OLPH!
Our Lady of Perpetual Help VERBUM Family Ministry is a ministry that is geared towards families that are homeschooling or have little ones not yet in school. We meet monthly on the First Friday of the month from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and participate in activities such as learning hymns, celebrating the feast days closest on the Liturgical calendar, and attend Mass at noon. All are welcome, no registration is required! We would love to see you there!

V
"Virtue"
Join us monthly to study a new virtue. Building virtue is the way to holiness and we guide our children to the path of holiness with Our Lord!
E
"Education"
Parents are the first educators of their children, per Pope St. John Paul II. Let's bring our children up in the way of the Lord so they never stray, God willing!
R
"Reverence"
The Lord of Lords and King of Kings makes Himself present to us in His Church all the time! Learn how to give Our Lord the reverence He is due because it is right and just to offer it as thanksgiving for all He does for us!
B
"Belief"
What help does it offer our children if we teach them everything but yet they do not believe? Let's teach them faith so that when the crosses in their lives come, they will persevere.
U
"Understanding"
A gift of the Holy Spirit, Our Lord grants us understanding when we ask for it. So let us ask and teach our children to know Him, to love Him and to serve Him all the days of their lives.
M
"Mass"
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith and the Mass is the ultimate form of prayer! Join us on the First Fridays per the dedication of the Sacred Heart for Mass at noon, followed by Adoration from 12:30pm - 1:00pm.
Remember, Our Lord made children wiggly and impatient! He knows that and yet still invites them to come to Him! We teach our children reverence and understanding by sitting them at Our Lord's feet. Feel free to take them out if they get noisy but please come back! Our Lord welcomes them with open arms.
