Sacristan

 Sacristans ensures that all preparations for Mass are complete, so the Priest can focus on the Liturgy.  Responsibilities include preparing the gifts of host and wine, setting up for the altar and the credence table with the proper vessels and linens, confirming the presence of the liturgical ministers (lector, extraordinary ministers, altar servers). You would only be expected to serve at the Mass of your choice. 

 Other duties include checking that the lights and sound system are on, the ushers have the bulletins,  and the sacristy door is locked. 

It is a vitally important ministry, incredibly rewarding and gratifying. A true blessing.
