Visitation of the Homebound & Sick

“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet earth but yours."

-St. Teresa of Avila

The homebound ministry at OLPH brings the Eucharist and spiritual comfort, through prayer and fellowship to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass due to illness, age or injury, extending the Church's care through trained Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) who follow specific procedures for reverence and solemnity. This vital service connects the homebound to the Eucharistic community and remains part of the Church's shared priestly duty.

The ministers for the homebound and sick visit parishioners bringing them Holy Communion once a week or by request. Ministers visit them at their home, hospital and nursing homes.  Please call the parish office if you have a friend or family member who is unable to attend  Mass and would appreciate a pastoral visit at home with the Eucharist.

Any practicing Catholic, 18 years or older, can become a minister to the sick and home bound. Safe haven training and background screening are required for all those serving in  this capacity.
